The Contest is subject to terms and conditions set forth on http://reliance.contestzone.in. By accessing/participating in the Contest, you indicate your acknowledgement and acceptance of these terms and conditions.

The Contestants are referred to in these terms and conditions as Subscribers or winners or contestants as the case may be.

The Contest is open for a limited period from 4th July 2008 00:00:01 to 2nd Sep 2008, 11:59:59 PM for the pre-paid as well as post-paid category of cellular subscribers of Reliance Communications Limited of all circles*. This contest is not applicable to roaming Subscribers. The Subscriber will be eligible for any prize stated hereunder only if he has paid all his billing dues & there is no sum outstanding against his name. A Subscriber who has availed of any special plans and/or free talk time will not be eligible for any prize in the Contest & will be ineligible to participate in the Contest.

In addition, this Contest is valid only for existing category of active Subscribers who fulfill all the following criteria:
The subscriber must be above 18 years of age.
The subscriber must be a citizen of India
The subscriber must not have been either prosecuted or convicted for commission of any criminal offence;
The subscriber must not be suffering from any legal disability e.g. insolvency, restraint by Court Order etc.

The contest is available in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Assamese and Oriya on 51234 and 51234244 and in English and Hindi on 5052622

Contest can be attempted only once.

The Contest consists of Two Hundred Questions (200) questions divided into four (04) steps. The first step shall have a total of eight (08) questions, the second step shall have Thirty (30) questions and the third step shall have Sixty Five questions (65) questions and the fourth step shall have Ninety Seven (97) questions. Every correct question will be rewarded with (01) one point and there will no points awarded for an incorrect answer.

The criteria to be eligible for a lucky draw in each step are given below:

Step 1: Five     (05) correct answers      = 05 points
Step 2: Twenty (20) correct answers      = 20 points
Step 3: Fifty (50) correct answers        = 50 points
Step 4: Seven Five (75) correct answers = 75 points

The criterion to be eligible for the lucky draw for the bumper prize is as follows:

At the end of step 4 your overall points scored should be 150.

As you fulfill the criteria of a step or if you attempt all the questions (even if the answers are correct or incorrect) of that step you will move to the next step.

On completion of a step, you will be informed the score of that step and the overall score.

You will move to the next step, even if you do not meet the step criteria when you attempt all questions in that step.

The answer for each question will be a number between 1 (One) and 9 (Nine)

You can answer by pressing any key between 1 & 9 on your phone keypad.

You will get only one chance to answer any question. You will be taken to the next question if you give either an incorrect answer or a correct answer.

Updated step score and overall score will be given after every correct answer.

You can press * to listen to a question again.

Once you complete all 200 questions you cannot attempt the contest again.

Scheduled SMS Alert will be sent to you everyday at a scheduled time giving the step status and what you need to do next.

An SMS will be sent to you every time you successfully complete a step, which will inform you of the prize that you would be eligible to win for that step and also if you would be eligible to win the Bumper prize at the end of Step 4.

Charges Rs. 6 per minute.

* The value and the quality of the diamonds shall be as per the market rates prevailing as on the date of purchase of the diamond by Network 18 and the purchase shall be made by Network 18 at its sole discretion and using reasonable prudence.

The choice of brands for the aforesaid prize/s shall be at the sole discretion of Network 18. Network 18 shall have the option to provide gift vouchers from any outlet to the winners to enable the winners to collect their respective aforesaid prizes.
All prizes will be awarded to participants who have fulfilled the eligibility criteria as stated above and who are selected by the random system generation process from all circles put together. Network 18 will be distributing the prizes.

The Contest is being made purely on a “best effort” basis and participation of eligible Subscribers is voluntary.

The Subscriber hereby understands and gives his/ her irrevocable consent for personal information relating to the Subscriber to be exchanged with Organizers and its vendors or published and/or communicated to/in any media that it may deem fit.

Organizers nor any of their vendor(s) shall neither be responsible nor guarantees the quality of the goods being offered as prizes.

The list of winners will be published on http://reliance.contestzone.in within 45 days from the date of closure of the Contest.

The prize(s) for this Contest shall neither be assignable nor transferable under any circumstances.

In case of any dispute or difference in respect of the prize/ selection of winners, the decision of Network 18 shall be final and binding on all concerned.

Apart from the above-mentioned prize/s, nothing else will be provided to the winner. All applicable taxes, levies, cesses, insurances, transfers and other expenses, if any, will have to be borne and paid by the winner.

Income tax, gift tax or any other statutory taxes, duties or levies as may be applicable from time to time, arising out of free Prize/s, shall be payable by the Winner/s of the respective prize/s. In case the Winner fails to comply with the applicable law/s, the Organizers will be entitled to select another winner at their own discretion.

In case the prize is worth more than Rs. 5,000/- in value will attract deduction of tax at source @ about 33.99% as per Section 194 B of the Income Tax Act 1961 or as applicable from time to time.

The winners will be requisitioned to pay for the TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) applicable for their prizes as applicable. If the winner does not agree to comply with the said requisition and pay the TDS amount, an alternative winner who agrees to pay the TDS will be chosen. Prior payment of the TDS to the government authority and submission of proof thereof to Organizers shall be a condition precedent for delivery of prizes to the Winners.

Reliance’s responsibility is limited to validating the winners and submitting same to Network 18. Network 18 or its vendor(s) shall on a best effort basis confirm the names/identity of the winners by calling the winners on their Mobile (MSISDN) or Telephone Numbers. However, if the verification of the identity of the winners is not possible due to any reason(s) including but not limited to, the inability to contact the winner or any other reason beyond the reasonable control of Network 18 or its vendors, the winners may verify the details published at the aforementioned website. All prizes shall be claimed by the winners, accompanied with documents specified herein below, from Network 18 within 15 days from the date of publishing of the Winners on the website. The documents required to be submitted along with the claim by the winner include the following (the document list is only indicative and not exhaustive and Network 18 shall be entitled to request the Subscriber to produce such other document/s from the winner as it may deem fit to its sole and absolute satisfaction: :
Identity Proof,
Address Proof,
PAN Card and
Letter of Compliance with rules and regulations etc
Proof of ownership of the mobile connection (Mobile bill etc.)

Network 18 at its sole discretion may also waive production of any of the aforesaid documents

Failure to claim the prize within the aforesaid 15 days period may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize and/or declaration of alternate winner which is at the sole discretion of the Organizers.

If the winners fail to claim their prizes or submit the aforesaid documents to claim the prize within an extended grace period of three (3) months from the date of availability of the winners’ details, then the organizers reserve the right to forfeit such unclaimed prizes.

In the event that the prizes cannot be delivered the winner(s) can collect them from the nearest place specified by Network 18

This offer in this Contest cannot be used in conjunction with any alternative offer or promotion or contest.

Any upgrade with respect to the prize will be borne by the winner and additional amount, if any, would be paid directly by the winner.

The prize/s shall not be redeemable for cash, wherever applicable. No requests shall be entertained by Network 18 in this behalf. However, Network 18 may at its sole and absolute discretion offer as an alternative to the prize, cash or cash equivalent or such other substitute as it may deem fit in the event that the product is not available in the market.

Organizers reserve the right to change/modify/amend the terms and conditions of the Prize at any time at its sole discretion.

Employees of the Organizers, their vendor/s and their subsidiaries, agencies and members of their immediate families are not eligible to participate in the Contest.

The Organizers, its vendor and/or its subsidiaries shall not be liable to any person or entity for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, including loss of profits, incurred by the winner or any third party, whether in connection with this contest, or for breach of any warranty or in tort.

The Organizers, its vendors and its subsidiaries shall not be responsible for any claim/s arising out of any technical failure/s either before, during, or after the completion of the Contest including but not limited to any technical failures in the telephone lines, failure of servers or the failure to provide the correct contest score updates or any mistakes arising out of technical snags. Further, the Organizers shall not be responsible for any claims arising out of any failure(s) which are beyond the control of the Organizers or its vendors.

This Contest is subject to force majeure circumstances i.e. act of God or any circumstance beyond the control of the Organizers.

The Contest is valid subject to the winner complying with all terms, conditions and/or formalities as required by the Organizers. Any failure on the part of the Subscriber to comply with the any specified term, condition and/or formality shall render the Subscriber liable for disqualification at the sole discretion of the organizers.

Network 18 shall endeavour to deliver the prize or its equivalent within 60 days from the date of receipt of all the documents from the winner to the complete satisfaction of the subscriber, in order to process the distribution of the Prize.

This Contest is subject to guidelines/ directions issued by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India or any other statutory authority from time to time.

The Organizers reserve the right to extend, cancel, discontinue, prematurely withdraw, change, alter or modify this contest or any part thereof including the eligibility criteria at its sole discretion at anytime during it’s validity as may be required in view of business exigencies and/or changes by regulatory authority and/or statutory changes and the same shall be binding on the Subscriber.

Acceptance of the Prizes by the winner constitutes permission for Organizers, and its affiliates to click photographs of the Winner/s and use the Winner's name, photographs, likeness, voice and comments for advertising and promotional purposes in any media worldwide for purposes of advertising and trade without any additional compensation whatsoever.

The Terms & Conditions are subject to Indian Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Civil Courts in Mumbai City Only.
